Popular talks on local history include:

“Cotton Bolls to Golf Balls” tells how Del Webb turned a cotton plantation into the nation’s first active adult community despite the advice of “experts” who claimed a community designed for adults would fail, as “older people won’t leave their families.”

“From Lizard Acres to Lush Oasis” extends the story of Sun City to Sun City West, and looks at the role of men whose names are seen on street signs and local buildings:  R. H. Johnson, Meeker, Kuentz, Ryan, and more.

“The Remarkable Del Webb” tells how a high school dropout went on to build one of the nation’s largest construction firms – a great American success story.

“The Boswell Connection” begins with a name on the local hospital and expands into the story of America’s largest farmer – and how he became a partner of Webb in the building of Sun City.

“John Meeker – Master Builder” was the man who turned steadily falling home sales around in 1965 with the result that Sun City filled up faster than expected, and Meeker could begin laying plans for new, larger of community of 75,000 to the west.

“The Grand Connection” describes the history leading up to Sun City Grand from the early days of the Vulture Road, through the formative years of the earlier Sun Cities to the resort-style design of Grand.
