In December 1946, Del E. Webb introduced the first edition of Del Webb’s Trade Talk with the following:

Greetings and Salutations are Extended by the Boss.

There could be no better time than during the Yule session to introduce our little paper, a new idea in our company which we hope will keep you in closer touch with one another throughout our far-flung operations.

It is designed especially to foster that friendliness and comradeship that permeates the Del E. Webb Construction Co. organization, that kind of spirit which gets the job done despite the obstacles, that kind of loyalty that has won for this company an enviable place in America’s construction picture.

And I want to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, for it has been you men and women of “our company” who made possible the success we enjoy today.

DEL E. WEBB

The name of the newsletter was changed several months later to “The Webb Spinner” which it remained throughout the years. The Museum is fortunate enough to have bound volumes of The WebbSpinner from Vol. 1 Number 1 through Vol. 37, published in December, 1983.
